University of Miami Institute for Women’s Health Releases New Data Report on Women’s Health in Miami-Dade County
In honor of National Women’s Health Week from May 11-18, 2008, the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, in partnership with the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade County, has released the Women’s Health Data Report, a comprehensive look at health statistics on women in Miami-Dade County. The report is a compilation of findings from several sources, including new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.
Institute Celebrates Excellence in Women's Health Research on Campus with the Inaugural Women's Health Research Day
On Monday, March 17, 2008, the Institute for Women's Health hosted the inaugural University of Miami Women’s Health Research Day at the Lois Pope LIFE Center. Researchers from throughout the university presented their recent research in women’s health and two awardees were selected from the faculty and student presentations.
Institute Announces 2008 Developmental Research Grant Awardees
We are pleased to announce the three recipients of the 2008 grant awards. These one-year awards are designed to encourage research studies targeting women’s health, provide the resources necessary to pursue new ideas, and develop the preliminary experimental data needed to support a successful NIH grant application.
