Developmental Research Grants
In 2007, the Institute for Women’s Health (IWH) offered support for one-year pilot projects in the amount of $50,000 each, designed to encourage research studies targeting women’s health. The goal was to provide the resources necessary to pursue a new idea and develop the preliminary experimental data needed to support a successful NIH grant application. The IWH has a commitment to expanding the scope of externally funded women’s health research at the University of Miami and facilitating the successful engagement of faculty in women’s health research.
The IWH wishes to stimulate and encourage research on women’s health that is consistent with the priorities of the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH), i.e., clinical or basic research related to women’s health or gender differences. For additional guidance on the NIH priorities in women’s health research, consult the ORWH Web site
